This upcoming Saturday, the SCH Blue Devils Football Team will be competing against Penn Charter at Lambeth Field. The game begins at 3 pm and will certainly be an exciting match. Both teams are having successful seasons so far with Penn Charter currently 4-1 with a recent 21-20 OT loss to Haverford. The senior quarterback, Mike Hnatkowsky, leads the Quakers along with sophomore running back Eddie Saydee. Before their game with The Haverford School, Penn Charter had defeated Lansdale Catholic, Interboro High School, Academy of the New Church, and Lawrenceville High School with the combined score of 146 to 35. Also, the Quakers are a very experienced team with 17 seniors and a team that defeated the Blue Devils 28-14 at Penn Charter last year.
Meanwhile, the SCH Blue Devils are led by senior Matt Rahill as quarterback, wide receiver/defensive player Tyson Hugee, and junior running back, Jordan Young. The Blue Devils are 4-2 this season with their only losses to Blue Mountain High School and Germantown Academy. Despite their losses, SCH has defeated Catholic League Teams, such as Father Judge and Roman Catholic, with a combined score of 70-49. SCH is just coming off an overtime loss to GA in which the final score was 16-13. Jack Myers kicked a 45-yard field goal to take the lead for the Devils, but then GA quickly scored on their first offensive possession in OT. The SCH and Penn Charter Football Teams are both riding waves of success into this Saturday’s game, and it should be a good one.
